Published by Bentley Systems and targeting current and potential customers, Be Magazine highlighted infrastructure industry trends, trade news, and award-winning customer projects. In addition to a print version, primary circulation was as a web-accessible e-book. I worked with Bentley’s in-house editor to design and produce this quarterly publication, which included an initial design overhaul and, later, a total redesign after corporate standards were updated. In addition to providing final documents for the printer, I produced the linked PDF used to create the online version.

In each issue, I developed distinctive feature layouts that highlighted topics of interest to users and prospective customers of Bentley’s 3-D computer-aided design software. The department section of Be Magazine showcased customer projects and market-specific stories. I designed it to have a consistent look and feel, but with a layout structure flexible enough to accommodate a variety of story types and a wide range of imagery (from editorial to beautiful architectural renderings to project screenshots). In addition to the regular departments sections and stand-alone feature articles, Be Magazine occasionally devoted portions of the magazine to in-depth coverage of specific events or relevant business topics. I designed these sections to work within the framework of the magazine but still have their own specific branding and cohesion.
