And the Color of the Year is…
…Green. Pantone calls it “greenery.” Huffington Post says the experts are describing it as a “zesty yellow-green.” I would call it a sort of dingy chartreuse. Pantone claims that this will be the color that we will be seeing everywhere in 2017. Not sure if I agree. Pantone’s track record for picking colors of the year is a bit suspect. Although very nice, as far as I can tell, last year’s colors–a sort of pale blush pink and a light periwinkle (there were two colors for 2016, not sure why)—never made much of an impact. They claim the green is a symbol of new beginnings, and is refreshing and revitalizing. I can hope, but just don’t think 2017 is going to live up to that positive hype.
